Since launching in 2022, XIL has worked with over 60 startups and 40 innovation partners across 15 countries — accelerating technology development and commercialization. Xylem has expanded its corporate venture capital commitments to $50M targeting water scarcity, quality, and decarbonization, including anchor positions in venture funds such as Burnt Island Ventures.
About the Role
The Manager, Innovation & Venture will work within Xylem Innovation Labs to drive venture engagement, ecosystem partnerships, and emerging growth opportunities across water, infrastructure, climate, and industrial technology. The role supports XIL's corporate venture capital strategy and innovation portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Xylem's approach to external innovation across venture ecosystems, startups, and strategic partnerships
- Assist with “make, partner, or buy” decision-making through market intelligence and ecosystem insight
- Manage relationships with portfolio companies, venture partners, and startup accelerator participants
- Evaluate emerging technology investment opportunities in water, climate, and industrial sectors
- Support due diligence and deal execution for direct venture investments
- Drive enterprise alignment and ensure innovation efforts integrate into business priorities
- Lead or support the annual Partnerships Accelerator for early-stage companies
Requirements
- Experience in corporate venture capital, venture capital, innovation management, or strategic partnerships
- Understanding of water technology, climate tech, or industrial technology preferred
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Comfort working across a large corporate organization with startup agility
