Position Overview
The role involves core membership in a small investment team backing startups in the built environment. The associate takes end-to-end ownership of deals from sourcing through diligence, investment decisions, and portfolio support, with deep-tech and hard-tech coverage including industrials, advanced materials, energy, and decarbonization. You will work directly with Partners, lead diligence independently, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal Sourcing & Thesis Development: Own sourcing across deep-tech and hard-tech verticals through proprietary networks, industry events, and research; develop differentiated investment theses.
- Due Diligence Leadership: Lead end-to-end diligence with particular focus on technical and commercial validation for science- and engineering-intensive companies.
- Investment Analysis & Financial Modeling: Build financial, valuation, and exit models; pressure-test founder assumptions in coordination with General Partners.
- Investment Recommendations & IC: Author investment memos and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Portfolio Management & Value Creation: Support portfolio companies post-investment, track performance against milestones, and facilitate strategic introductions.
- LP, Co-investor & Ecosystem Relationships: Manage relationships with co-investors, strategic corporates, and Limited Partners; represent the fund externally.
- Mentorship & Team Leadership: Guide analysts and interns while maintaining team standards for diligence and analysis.
