Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations

The opportunity

Inspiration Ventures is an early-stage venture firm with an 18-year, eight-vehicle history. We are hiring our first Head of Capital Formation & Investor Relations to own the firm's relationships with its investors, existing and new, and to build the investor function the firm needs at institutional scale.

This is a broad, permanent role. You will run investor relations and reporting across all of our funds, act as the firm's steward of performance data, contribute to our investment and portfolio work, and work with the partners on the firm's capital formation.

The mandate is senior. The firm's capital has come largely through the founders' networks. As we grow, we need an institutional LP base, a repeatable process and IR infrastructure the firm has never had. You will build all three.

About the firm

Inspiration Ventures is a founder-led, early-stage firm that backs category creators before the category exists. We were in UserTesting before usability testing was a market and in DailyPay before on-demand pay existed. Today we apply the same approach to applied AI: companies building on top of frontier models, not at the frontier itself.

What you will own

Investor relations and reporting (all funds)

• Be the day-to-day relationship owner for LPs across Funds I to IV.
• Own LP communications: quarterly letters, the annual meeting, LP inquiries and custom reporting, supported by fund administration.
• Own performance reporting and analysis at fund and deal level: called vs. deployed multiples, marks vs. realizations, concentration and the J-curve, reconciled to the firm's master records.
• Keep the track record, attribution files, DDQ and data room current as permanent firm assets.

Investment and portfolio support

• Bring deal flow and co-investment partners from your LP and family-office network into the firm's investment process.
• Contribute market research on applied AI themes and support diligence where your background adds value.
• Support portfolio companies with strategic, customer and corporate introductions.
• Work with the partners on firm planning, positioning and long-term LP strategy.

Capital formation

• Lead the firm's capital formation process with the partners: pipeline, targeting, meetings, diligence and closing with fund counsel.
• Build the institutional pipeline across endowments, foundations, funds of funds, family offices, wealth platforms and strategic corporates, and help secure anchor LPs.
• Shape the LP narrative and materials with the GPs.

Who you are

Required

• A proven record in venture or private-fund capital formation, IR or placement, with capital commitments you personally closed.
• Fluency in TVPI, DPI, net IRR, MOIC and the J-curve, and the judgment to present a concentrated, partly realized record to sophisticated allocators.
• Clear writing and speaking. You make a nuanced story simple without overselling it.
• Working knowledge of private-fund marketing regulation.

Strongly preferred

• An active institutional or family-office LP network you can engage now.
• Raising for managers stepping up in fund size, ideally in AI, enterprise software or fintech.
• A full close alongside placement agents, fund administrators and counsel.
• Comfort with founder-led GPs and a small, high-trust team.

How you work

• High ownership, low ego. You run a process without being handed one.
• Candid. You would rather show an LP the write-offs than paper over them.
• Focused on long-term relationships, not a single close.

Compensation

Competitive and in line with experience: a base salary and an annual discretionary bonus based on overall performance across the role. No compensation is tied to capital raised or to any individual commitment or close.

Location & process

This is a full-time, in-house role that can be based anywhere in the world. Expect regular travel to LP meetings and time with the partnership. We are moving quickly.
