The HSG START Accelerator is a new launchpad for tech-driven startups in Europe – initiated as
a joint project of the University of St.Gallen (HSG), the START Foundation, and the Switzerland
Innovation Park East (SIP Ost). Our mission: to make Europe’s best tech startups investor-ready
and set them up for growth and international expansion.
We are looking to expand our team! In your role as a Startup Scout, you will play a key role in
identifying and engaging with the most promising founding teams. You’ll support the
operational implementation of our scouting strategy, actively explore the European startup
ecosystem, and help build strong relationships – with startups, tech hubs, universities, and
communities.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the execution of the scouting strategy in close collaboration with the team.
- Conduct research and actively reach out to tech startups across Europe.
- Attend startup events, meetups, and conferences (on-site or virtually).
- Pre-screen and shortlist potential applicants.
- Communicate with startups throughout the application process.
- Assist in organizing scouting initiatives (e.g. roadshows).
- Support the program management team on the execution of ongoing batches.
Your profile:
- Bachelor degree in business, innovation or engineering
- Passion for startups, new technologies, and entrepreneurship
- Previous working experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and not afraid of outreach – via email,
phone, or LinkedIn
- Independent and structured way of working
- Fluent in German and English
