Investment Associate – Climate & AI

About the role
ExpresSo NB is the corporate venture arm of PTT Group, Thailand's national energy leader. We invest directly into startups and as an LP into global venture funds across climate tech, energy transition, and AI/deep tech.
This role covers both verticals and both sides of our activity — direct investment and GP/LP fund work. Your final weighting will be set by your strengths. Candidates with technical or engineering depth in climate, energy, or deep tech will take on more direct deal execution; more sector-agnostic candidates, or those drawn to AI, will cover both verticals with a heavier GP/LP emphasis. Depth in one vertical is sufficient.
Responsibilities
• Support investment thesis development by gathering and synthesizing market and industries intelligence within assigned sectors.
• Source, screen, and evaluate investment leads, and own valuation modeling and investment memo preparation under the guidance of senior team members while also maintaining accurate records of all interactions
• Conduct commercial, legal, and financial due diligence, and prepare analysis to support deal structuring and negotiation.
• Support portfolio monitoring and value-creation initiatives, providing regular updates to senior team members.
• Assist the corporate venture partnership effort by mapping portfolio-company capabilities to co-development and deployment opportunities across PTT Business Units, Flagship companies, and PTT Group's CVC.
• Build relationships across the VC, CVC, and startup ecosystem to support deal flow and market presence.
• Track performance against key metrics and help identify investment and operational risks across the portfolio.
Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• MBA or master’s degree in relevant field is preferred
• 2 - 4 years of working experience in related fields or sector including venture capital, investment banking, and management consulting, energy, climate, etc.
• Passion and intellectual curiosity for climate change, sustainability, AI, and venture capital, possesses a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines and long hours.
• Excellent research, analytical, and due diligence skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skill in both Thai and English
What to expect
This is a small team covering a global portfolio from Bangkok. You will run multiple workstreams in parallel against externally-set deal deadlines, and coordinate with GPs and founders across US and European time zones.
