Investment Analyst

We are looking for a curious, driven and analytical Investment Analyst to join our investment team. The Investment Analyst will support the full investment lifecycle from identifying potential companies and assessing new opportunities to executing transactions and supporting portfolio development. We are particularly interested in candidates who combine a foundation in investment or financial analysis with meaningful exposure to the technology sector and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and identify promising startups, founders, and investment opportunities globally.
• Conduct market research, sector mapping, and competitive analysis, particularly across technology and AI-related sectors.
• Evaluate potential investments based on the founding team, market opportunity, business model, product, technology, traction, financial performance, and key risks.
• Conduct commercial, financial, and operational due diligence on prospective investments.
• Assess how technology and AI contribute to a company’s product, competitive advantage, scalability, and long-term defensibility.
• Build financial models, comparable-company analyses, valuation scenarios, and potential investment-return cases.
• Analyze key company metrics, including revenue growth, unit economics, customer acquisition, retention, margins, and cash runway.
• Prepare investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for the investment team and Investment Committee.
• Support transaction execution, including due-diligence coordination, documentation, and closing processes.
• Monitor portfolio-company performance and support research, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain an active investment pipeline and develop relationships with founders, investors, operators, accelerators, and other ecosystem stakeholders.
• Track emerging technology, AI, market, and funding trends relevant to Alpha JWC’s investment strategy.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or another relevant discipline.
• Approximately 1–3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, consulting, investment research, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in investment analysis, financial modelling, market research, and company evaluation.
• Meaningful exposure to AI through investing, working with an AI company, AI-related product or strategy work, technical projects, research, or professional certifications.
• Able to understand and assess technology-driven business models and the practical application of AI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
• Able to synthesize complex information into clear investment insights and recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Comfortable engaging with founders, senior stakeholders, and investment professionals.
• Curious, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
• Genuine interest in startups, technology, artificial intelligence, and investing in Southeast Asia.
