The Portfolio Manager will work with the Head of Portfolio Management to actively manage all portfolios in line with the client’s risk and return profile, as well as achieve the budgeted revenue of the business while minimising risk on the portfolios.
• Active Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the active management of fixed-income mutual fund portfolios, including money market funds, bond funds, and Eurobond funds, to achieve targeted benchmarks.
- Manage the STI portfolio to achieve a minimum margin of 1.5% - N300m.
- Actively manage the fixed-income proprietary portfolio to achieve agreed benchmarks.
• Investment Decision Support:
- Prepare comprehensive investment justification memos for all decisions related to mutual funds, STI funds, proprietary investments, etc., seeking approval from the MD/Head of Portfolio Management.
- Monitor investment performance to ensure alignment with agreed benchmarks and conduct portfolio rebalancing to maintain asset allocation limits.
• Market Opportunities and Risk Management:
- Actively manage all funds to capitalize on market opportunities, demonstrating contributions generated from such opportunities to
a minimum of N50m.
- Ensure minimal portfolio risk, addressing liquidity, interest rate, price, and market risks.
- Maintain a minimum investment-grade rating (A-) for the mutual funds.
• Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure full compliance with trust deeds and SEC rules governing the management of all funds.
- Prepare investment teasers/documents for various products and generate monthly fact sheets for all fixed-income-based portfolios.
- Maintain active management of portfolio assets and liabilities to minimize ALM risk.
• Trade Execution and Cost Management:
- Ensure prompt execution of all trades across portfolios.
- Prevent delays in trade settlement to avoid potential income loss.
- Negotiate and minimize transaction costs to enhance overall portfolio profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Social Sciences or related fields
- ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage
- Being an SEC Sponsored Individual is an added advantage Member of CIS
- CFA (at least level 1 completed)
- Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience
- Experience in Venture Capital is an added advantage
