Founded in 2024, Optimist Ventures is a technology growth investing and advisory platform with ~$300M of AUM and a thesis around how technology can positively enhance labor in the world’s most tech-deficient industries.
You will work directly with the founding team to enhance your understanding of VC / Growth Equity, from LP capital raising and content creation, to market research and deal execution. We are accepting applications for full-time roles in our Flatiron, NYC office, or part-time for candidates in East Coast-based MBA programs.
Scope
Firm Building
Help build a generational firm's culture processes and operations
Source, Research, Diligence & Invest
Deal-sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, memo construction and underwriting
Build and manage our deal-flow funnel and proactively execute on strategic opportunities
Build sector research capabilities to identify high-potential founders and companies
Fundraising
Build bespoke fundraising, investment, case presentations for our investment partners
Help manage complexity of a fundraise across geographies, LP types and stages
Portfolio Management and Optimization
Helps manage, assess alternatives and apply a constructive hand and critical lens to the portfolio assets
Content & Marketing:
Assist in building research decks for advisors and portfolio companies
Publish weekly and monthly newsletters with updates, articles, and research
Compensation
Full-time hires will receive competitive base salary and possibility of annual bonus based on business generation

Criteria
Preference for proven PE / VC / Hedge Fund / Investment Banking prior work experience, and outstanding written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated interest in VC, startups, and technology. We will look for individuals hungry to learn and build alongside the Optimist team at our NYC office in Flatiron, NYC.
