Breakwater, a Los Angeles-based PropTech venture studio, is seeking a Venture Associate to serve as the operational backbone of the organization, freeing founders to focus on strategy, product, and fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Manage studio-level operational projects and set weekly execution cadence
- Own and track the full GTM pipeline, staging deals and preventing leads from going cold
- Maintain investor-ready fundraising materials (pitch deck, metrics, data room, outreach tracker)
- Create SOPs and documentation for structured operations
- Coordinate across teams, including overseas members
- Support venture validation and portfolio company execution
Requirements
- 1–3 years in startup operations (BizOps, Founder's Associate, Chief of Staff roles)
- Strong communication and ownership mentality
- Proficiency in Notion, Slack, Asana, Google Suite, Figma
- Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
- Availability for late hours coordinating with overseas teams
Preferred experience
- Consulting (MBB), investment banking, VC, or hospitality backgrounds
