WHO YOU ARE

You are a hands-on, data-driven marketer whose passion is to build market intelligence tools and data sets that make it possible to fill “seats” (demo days, meetups, matchups) with the right people. You will see huge possibilities in SOSV’s email lists, social channels, and existing data (Affinity CRM) to forge a marketing machine that delivers venture capitalists to IndieBio and HAX demo days, founders to VC-founder matchups, and climate tech enthusiasts to the SOSV Climate Tech Summit. You love events, and you probably worked on marketing in the events world. You are adept at working across teams, exhibiting collaborative, goals-oriented leadership, and teaching less experienced but motivated colleagues along the way. You are a seasoned multi-tasker, energetic communicator, and seat-of-the-pants project manager. Most of all, you are passionate about convening great people to help the startups destined to have a big impact on human and planetary health.

Here are some of the requirements:

  • 4+ years experience working in digital marketing, preferably in the events world
  • Expertise in at least one major crm platform, plus working experience with Affinity and MailChimp, Hopin, Eventbrite, Grip, Brella.
  • Experience building an integrated customer database from diverse sources
  • Well versed in building & managing cross platform campaigns designed for results and committed to continual improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You’ll work closely with the several partners, the communications director, and teams at the global SOSV programs to build out a powerful marketing machine and CRM; in parallel, you will help develop and market events for SOSV, HAX and IndieBio, including mega-events like the SOSV Climate Tech summit, which had more than 3,000 attendees last year, and the Climate Tech Matchup, which brought together 1500 VCs and founders.

You will never have a dull moment, and work each day beginning with a lively team call.

The role reports to Ned Desmond, Senior Operating Partner at SOSV.

There are no direct reports but we crew up for projects and distribute workload.

Location: New York region or SF Bay area.
