Role Description

The Investment Director is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, CA. This role is responsible for sourcing and evaluating early-stage investment opportunities in space-tech, autonomy, and robotics, conducting rigorous market and financial analysis, and leading investment processes from initial screening through term sheet negotiation and closing. The Investment Director will work closely with founders to support portfolio companies on strategy, fundraising, and scaling, while collaborating with internal partners to refine investment theses and build sector insights. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing deal pipelines, performing due diligence, preparing investment memos and presentations, representing the firm at industry events, and contributing to the continuous improvement of IXSAR Capital’s investment frameworks and decision-making practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Investment Management and Investments, including experience leading deals and managing an early-stage portfolio.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills and Finance capabilities, with demonstrated ability to perform financial modeling, valuation, and risk assessment.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing Investment Strategies, particularly in venture capital and deep-tech sectors.
  • Relevant experience in venture capital, private equity, or technology-focused investing, ideally within space-tech, autonomy, or robotics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is beneficial.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with technical founders and co-investors, with clear, concise communication skills.
  • Proven capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Comfort with on-site work in San Francisco, CA and willingness to attend meetings, conferences, and site visits as needed.
