YZi Labs is seeking an experienced Investment Director to lead DeFi ecosystem investments, identifying, evaluating, and managing investments in leading and emerging DeFi protocols, infrastructure providers, and blockchain-based financial applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop investment thesis across DeFi sectors including decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and derivatives
- Conduct market research on blockchain ecosystems (Ethereum, Layer 2s, Solana)
- Source and evaluate investment opportunities through commercial and financial due diligence
- Build investment cases and present recommendations to the Investment Committee
- Support transaction structuring and execution across equity, token, and hybrid structures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years in venture capital, private equity, or crypto investment roles
- Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Deep understanding of blockchain technology and the DeFi ecosystem
Preferred qualifications
- Prior blockchain/fintech investment experience
- Familiarity with on-chain analytics platforms (Dune, Nansen, Token Terminal)
- Active participation in the crypto ecosystem
