About the Role

The Investment Associate serves as the analytical and execution backbone of the investment team, playing a critical role across the entire investment lifecycle. This role involves evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, supporting transaction execution, monitoring portfolio performance, and contributing to strategic investment decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen, analytical rigor, and a keen interest in private markets and venture investing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Investment Evaluation & Due Diligence

  • Conduct comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational due diligence on prospective investment opportunities.
  • Analyze company financial statements, business models, competitive positioning, and growth prospects.
  • Evaluate investment risks and identify key value drivers.

2. Financial Analysis & Modelling

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess company performance, valuation, and investment returns.
  • Perform scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and forecasting to support investment recommendations.
  • Assist in valuation exercises using relevant methodologies.

3. Market & Industry Research

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, attractive sectors, and high-growth investment opportunities.
  • Analyze industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments impacting investment decisions.
  • Generate insights to support investment theses and portfolio strategy.

4. Investment Committee & Deal Execution

  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and analytical reports for internal review and investment committee discussions.
  • Support transaction execution, including term sheet negotiations, documentation review, and deal closing processes.
  • Coordinate with legal, financial, and external advisors throughout the transaction lifecycle.

5. Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation

  • Track and analyze portfolio company performance against operational and financial objectives.
  • Prepare periodic portfolio reviews and performance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in portfolio company meetings and provide analytical support for strategic initiatives and decision-making.

6. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, industry experts, intermediaries, and co-investors.
  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities through network development and market outreach.

7. Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the enhancement of investment processes, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Maintain investment databases, market intelligence, and deal tracking systems.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors relevant to the firm's investment strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, consulting, or transaction advisory.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, commercial judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
