YXS Capital is an award-winning venture platform built with institutional rigor and a track record that ranks among the top 1% of global venture fund managers.
We fund groundbreaking companies that advance how the world powers, builds, moves, and computes.
Built by investors and operators with deep capital markets experience, YXS Capital partners closely with founders through critical growth and scale phases. We operate with an institutional-grade investment discipline while remaining deeply founder-aligned in our approach.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal to represent YXS Capital in San Francisco and lead our on-the-ground presence in the Bay Area.
This is a senior investment role designed for an experienced venture investor with a strong SF network, deep ecosystem credibility, and the ability to operate autonomously while staying tightly aligned with the partnership.
You will act as the firm’s face in San Francisco, sourcing and leading investment opportunities, maintaining high-trust relationships across the ecosystem, and supporting portfolio companies locally. The role reports directly to the Managing Partners.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing and Ecosystem Leadership
Identify and originate high-quality from Seed/Series A to Series D investment opportunities in the Bay Area. Maintain an active presence with founders, venture firms, angels, accelerators, and operators. Be consistently top-of-mind within the SF ecosystem.
Investment Execution
Lead deals end-to-end, including initial screening, founder meetings, diligence coordination, investment memos, IC discussions, and execution. Partner closely with the MPs on conviction-building and portfolio construction.
Brand Representation
Represent YXS Capital across the Bay Area through curated events, private dinners, conferences, and ecosystem engagement. Strengthen YXS Capital’s reputation as a trusted, founder-first investment partner.
Founder Support
Act as a local partner to YXS portfolio companies based in or expanding to the Bay Area. Support founders on strategy, hiring, fundraising preparation, and key introductions as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Venture Experience
10+ years of experience in venture capital, with time spent at an established and reputable VC firm In SF. Strong understanding from Seed/Series A to growth-stage investing dynamics.
San Francisco Network
Deep, authentic relationships across the SF startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, and operators. Ability to source proprietary opportunities through trust and reputation.
Autonomous and Trusted
Comfortable operating independently as the firm’s representative in SF, with strong judgment, discipline, and alignment with partnership-level thinking.
Founder-Aligned Mindset
You see founders as long-term partners, not transactions. You bring empathy, intellectual honesty, and high standards to every interaction.
Clear Communicator
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to articulate investment theses, founder narratives, and strategic insights with clarity and conviction.
