Let's move the world forward, together. ## Role description We are hiring a Principal to represent YXS Capital in San Francisco and lead our on-the-ground presence in the Bay Area. This is a senior investment role for a highly driven venture investor with deep ecosystem credibility, strong judgment, and the ambition to operate at the highest level of the industry. You will serve as a core extension of the partnership, sourcing and leading investments while representing YXS Capital locally and remaining tightly aligned with global strategy. You will operate at the center of the firm's investment activity in one of the most competitive venture ecosystems globally. This role is designed for candidates who combine strong investment experience with a proven ability to build relationships, generate proprietary deal flow, and operate with high ownership and intensity. ## Responsibilities - **Sourcing & Ecosystem Leadership:** Identify and originate high-quality investment opportunities from Seed / Series A through Series D in the Bay Area. Maintain an active, high-trust presence with founders, venture firms, angels, accelerators, and operators. Represent YXS Capital as a long-term, high-conviction partner within the SF ecosystem. - **Investment Execution:** Lead investments end-to-end, including sourcing, founder engagement, diligence, investment memos, IC discussions, and execution. Partner closely with Managing Partners on conviction-building, portfolio construction, and strategic decision-making. - **Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation:** Support portfolio companies through active engagement, strategic guidance, and selective hands-on involvement. Monitor performance and identify opportunities for value creation across the portfolio. - **Brand & Market Leadership:** Maintain and expand YXS Capital's brand recognition across the Bay Area through curated events, private dinners, conferences, and ecosystem engagement. Represent the firm with credibility, consistency, and seniority. - **Thought Leadership & Market Research:** Contribute to investment theses, market research, and forward-looking insights on emerging technologies and sectors. Support the firm's positioning as a thought leader. - **Global Initiatives:** Support global firm initiatives, including strategic partnerships, cross-border opportunities, and selective institutional relationships. Up to 20% travel expected. ## What we're looking for - **Venture Experience:** 8+ years of experience in venture capital, with time spent at a respected SF-based VC firm. Strong understanding of Seed through growth-stage investing dynamics. - **San Francisco Network:** Deep, authentic relationships across the SF startup ecosystem. Proven ability to source proprietary opportunities through trust, reputation, and sustained presence. - **Ownership & Intensity:** Comfortable operating with significant autonomy, responsibility, and pace. Strong internal drive and ability to sustain high output. - **Founder-Aligned, Institutionally Minded:** Ability to work closely with founders while maintaining rigorous investment standards. Balance empathy with discipline and independent thinking. - **Communication Skills:** Exceptional written and verbal communication.
