SVG operates THRIVE, a global agrifood innovation network and corporate partnership program.
The role
The Analyst is a key contributor to the firm's deal pipeline - an execution-heavy role spanning top-of-funnel triage, market and competitive research, financial models, IC memo support, portfolio data tracking, and LP reporting. You'll contribute to live deals from day one.
Responsibilities
- Triage inbound deal flow and surface top-decile companies into weekly pipeline review
- Build thesis-driven target lists and run targeted outreach; run first calls and write crisp intake notes
- Build market sizing, competitive landscapes, and reference-call programs; assess technology and scientific risk
- Construct and stress-test financial models, cap tables, and return scenarios; draft IC memo sections
- Collect and validate quarterly portfolio KPIs and maintain dashboards
- Prepare quarterly LP reporting packages and maintain data rooms
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in a STEM field, or business with a STEM minor (life sciences, ag/food science, biotech, engineering, chemistry, or environmental science preferred)
- 0-2 years post-undergrad; strong internships in scope
- Strong written communication and analytical skills; comfortable with Excel and Airtable
- Demonstrated interest in venture capital, frontier technology, or agrifood
- AI fluency - actively using and forming opinions on AI tools for research and diligence
- Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities; available 2-3 days/week at SVG HQ
Compensation: competitive, commensurate with experience.
