Quidnet Ventures

Quidnet Ventures is a New Zealand venture capital fund backing early-stage science-driven deep-tech companies, connecting its founders to international markets, capital and networks.

Quidnet Ventures is a New Zealand venture capital fund investing at the early stage in science-driven deep technology companies. Its stated remit is narrow by design: businesses built on technical differentiation that address significant problems and have the potential to become global rather than domestic enterprises. Sectors of interest include aerospace, robotics, photonics, medical technology, agritech and frontier sciences.

The firm operates through two funds. Fund I, the inaugural vehicle, is fully deployed into early-stage New Zealand deep-tech companies; portfolio companies named by the firm include Dawn Aerospace and Winely. Fund II, referred to as the Discovery Fund, is currently being raised to continue investing in New Zealand deep-tech companies with global ambitions. Ticket sizes, sector allocation and follow-on policy have not been disclosed.

Quidnet was founded by Mark Bregman, a technology executive and entrepreneur. Beyond capital, the fund's stated function is to connect New Zealand technical founders with international markets, capital and networks - a role shaped by the geography of its deal flow, since the companies it backs are typically more constrained by access to offshore markets and investors than by local technical capability. The firm is based in New Zealand, and its investment activity is concentrated there.
