The Role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial General Partner / Managing Partner to join Helantic and help build the firm’s long-term institutional platform.

The immediate priority of this role is fundraising and capital formation. You will take a leading role in expanding Helantic’s LP base, converting investor relationships into commitments and positioning the firm with relevant European and international capital partners.

Beyond fundraising, you will contribute to investment decisions, portfolio strategy and the continued development of Helantic as a differentiated European venture capital franchise.

Responsibilities

• Lead Helantic’s fundraising activities alongside the Founding Partners
• Activate and expand a high-quality network of prospective limited partners
• Build relationships with family offices, institutional investors, fund-of-funds, strategic investors and other relevant capital providers
• Originate, manage and convert LP opportunities throughout the fundraising process
• Develop compelling and institutionally credible positioning for Helantic’s strategy
• Lead investor meetings, due diligence processes and commercial follow-ups
• Establish a disciplined LP pipeline, reporting cadence and relationship-management process
• Maintain trusted, long-term relationships with existing and prospective investors
• Contribute to future fundraises and Helantic’s broader platform and capital strategy

Investment & Portfolio Leadership

• Contribute to sourcing, evaluating and selecting exceptional defence and dual-use companies
• Participate in due diligence, investment committee discussions and transaction structuring
• Help refine Helantic’s investment thesis and portfolio-construction strategy
• Support portfolio companies with strategy, financing, hiring, market access and business development
• Facilitate relevant relationships with industry, government, military and security stakeholders
  

Platform Building

• Act as a visible and credible representative of Helantic in the European venture capital and defence-tech ecosystems
• Contribute to the firm’s governance, culture and institutional development
• Work closely with the Founding Partners on Helantic’s long-term strategy
• Help build the organisation, processes and partnerships required for a sustainable multi-fund platform
  

Your profile

We are looking for an accomplished and highly entrepreneurial individual who combines fundraising ability, sound judgment and genuine alignment with Helantic’s mission.

Qualifications

• A demonstrable track record in raising venture capital, private equity or comparable private-market capital
• An active and relevant network of prospective LPs in Europe and, ideally, internationally
• The ability to originate LP relationships and convert them into credible fundraising opportunities and commitments
• Several years of senior experience in venture capital, private equity, asset management, family-office investing or a closely related field
• Strong commercial communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
• Credibility with sophisticated private and institutional investors
• The ability to communicate a differentiated investment strategy with clarity and conviction
• A high degree of ownership, discretion, integrity and execution discipline
• Genuine interest in defence, security, deep technology and European strategic sovereignty
• Fluency in English; German or another relevant European language is a strong advantage

Additional Strengths

• Previous experience raising a first-time or emerging-manager fund
• Established relationships with family offices, fund-of-funds, institutional investors, strategic investors or public-sector capital providers
• Experience in defence, national security, aerospace, deep tech or dual-use investing
• A background as an investor, founder or senior operator
• Access to differentiated deal flow and relevant industry networks
• Understanding of European security policy, procurement structures and geopolitical dynamics
• Experience building an investment firm or scaling an institutional investment platform
