HashKey Capital is seeking a sharp, intellectually curious Research Manager to anchor the investment research function for HashKey Capital's liquid funds business. The role involves expanding from VC-focused research to full-market coverage, building research infrastructure, generating insights, and producing institutional-grade reports. The ideal candidate combines digital asset market expertise with analytical rigor and proactive use of AI tools.
Job Description
- Build and own the liquid funds research framework covering digital asset fundamentals, macro drivers, on-chain data, market structure, and sector rotation
- Conduct in-depth research on digital asset projects and market themes, assessing fundamentals, competitive positioning, tokenomics, and risk-adjusted return potential
- Produce timely, high-quality investment research reports, market commentaries, and thematic pieces for internal portfolio managers and external institutional clients
- Leverage AI tools to deliver insights into industry developments, news flow, on-chain activity, and competitor movements
- Support portfolio managers with investment idea generation, position sizing inputs, and ongoing monitoring of the liquid fund portfolio
- Monitor macro and regulatory developments across key markets (HK, SG, US, EU)
- Collaborate with the product team to develop research-backed product narratives and investor materials
- Help establish and maintain relationships with project teams, market data providers, and institutional research networks
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field; CFA, FRM, or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years of experience in investment research, asset management, or a related role; prior coverage of digital assets or crypto markets strongly preferred
- Strong fundamental research skills assessing quantitative data and qualitative project factors
- Familiarity with on-chain analytics tools (Glassnode, Nansen, Dune) and traditional market data platforms
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, well-structured research reports for sophisticated institutional audiences
- Comfortable working across primary and secondary market dynamics with an understanding of translating VC-stage insights
- Proactive self-starter able to manage research coverage independently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional English and Chinese ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building or transitioning a research function from single-asset or VC-focused coverage to full-market research
- Hands-on experience using AI tools to automate research tracking, data aggregation, or report generation workflows
- Existing relationships with digital asset project teams, data providers, or institutional research networks
- Prior exposure to investor-facing roles or experience presenting research to institutional clients
