Charter School Growth Fund, founded in 2005 and based in Broomfield, Colorado, operates as a nonprofit philanthropic venture capital fund dedicated to identifying, funding, and supporting the expansion of high-quality public charter school networks across the United States. The organisation deploys venture capital strategies, discipline, and focus in the education sector, targeting network-level growth rather than individual schools. It is currently investing from its fourth fund cycle.
The fund has supported over 200 charter school networks, which collectively operate more than 1,700 schools serving upwards of 725,000 students. Within the next decade, it aims to reach approximately one million students through its portfolio. More than half of its portfolio networks are led by leaders of color, and more than half are led by women.
Charter School Growth Fund's investment approach centres on accelerating innovation and strengthening long-term student outcomes for underserved populations. Its portfolio focus reflects an emphasis on expanding access through networks demonstrating strong academic results and scalable operational models.
