A Connecticut-based venture capital firm and its managing partner are hiring an attorney to handle a variety of legal matters. Represented entities include the firm's executives, including its founder and entrepreneur, who previously established Yodle (acquired by Web.com for $342 million), portfolio companies, real estate holdings, and franchised automotive group. Base + Equity positions available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will work on-site in Milford, Connecticut, and must possess strong legal and communication skills, as well as the ability to swiftly research diverse topics as they arise.

Real Estate and Condominium Law
Planning and Zoning
Family and Estate Planning
Venture Capital Partnerships and Capital Raising
Company Formation
Public Policy and Think Tank Initiatives
Contract Law and Negotiations

While an exhaustive understanding of all these subjects is not necessary, the successful candidate should be able to synthesize research and become knowledgeable about new areas quickly. A strong foundation in U.S. law is required.

Responsibilities include:

Quickly researching new topics and precedents
War Rooming/Developing winning legal and business strategies
Finding opportunity to create leverage and drive compromise
When appropriate, seeking specialized advice from other legal professionals
Managing and minimizing external expert/specialists legal expense
Although uncommon, there might be occasional light litigation work that necessitates appearances in local courts.

Required Qualifications:

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
Technical proficiency, including familiarity with computers, spreadsheets, and conducting business over the phone
Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience in the technology or media industry is advantageous
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Connecticut Bar
