Job Description

This 12-month fixed term contract is a great opportunity for someone looking to transition into this vibrant Venture Capital industry. You’ll bring expertise in AML, investment data and book of records processes gained in a financial services operations role, adding value to a team as they embed new systems and processes that will enable them to scale and meet the challenge of Octopus Ventures’ ambitious growth plans.

The team:

The Business Operations team consists of 5 people and this role will report to the Business Operations Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working effectively with data is central to this role. Whether you are producing quality MI reports for our various internal and external clients or ensuring accurate recordings of our investments and disinvestments in our various systems (following relevant FCA regulations). You play a vital role in maintaining the seamless operation of daily processes, governance, systems and reporting obligations as we continue to grow our business.
• Support the onboarding of new clients and investments by overseeing anti-money laundering checks required on our investors, investee companies and other third parties.
• Build working relationships with teams across Octopus and suppliers externally to keep things running smoothly and information flowing between us seamlessly all the time. Nothing in this team happens in isolation and that keeps it interesting!

Qualifications

✅ Previous experience working in a financial services operations/admin role where you’ve had exposure to AML and KYC checks

✅ A keen interest and experience in working with large data sets – cutting, manipulating and formatting.

✅ Previous experience working with institutional clients and their structures would be advantageous.

✅ An understanding of equity investments generally, although you don’t need to have worked exactly in our part of the industry before.
