The Bloom Fellowship by the Bangladesh Women Investors Network aims to address the gender gap in the startup sector, where less than 3.4% of capital have gone to companies led by women CEOs and 36% of the workforce in the average startup are women. We are making a commitment to build the long-term startup talent pipeline by identifying, training and placing high potential young women into startup roles earlier in their careers, and support them throughout their journey.

🌸 What is the Bloom Fellowship?

Bloom Fellowship is a semester-long "talent accelerator" meticulously crafted to equip Bangladeshi talent, with the skills, knowledge and connections needed to excel in the world of startups. We pair up the Bloom Fellows with local and international mentors, provide them with a crash course in the world of startups and tech roles and place them into curated internships with our industry partners as a stepping stone into longer term roles and careers.

Plus, once fellows are part of Bloom and BWIN, they are a part of the family forever – a global community dedicated to lifelong support and growth as they “bloom” into managers, executives, investors, board members, founders and leaders who break the status quo.

We’ve onboarded three dozen companies and investors, a national network of universities and student clubs and an international network of mentors working at leading tech and startup companies to support the first cohort.

Who can apply?

• Students in their sophomore, penultimate and senior year of undergraduate studies OR those who have earned a bachelors degree in any discipline in the last six months
• Demonstrated interest in the startup sector
• At least two letters of recommendation by a faculty member/startup founder/mentor
• Pass the interview process
