Michael Benezra founded Erez Capital in the summer of 2022. Prior to the firm, Michael Co-Founded GK Fund, the first social impact fund to provide direct capital to BIPOC startup founders in Massachusetts. Michael led a rapid expansion of GK Fund, establishing corporate partnerships with Lyft, PNC Bank, and Wix.com, and facilitating its inclusion into the exclusive Berkshire Futures Fund - a $10M loan fund for small minority owned businesses. In two years, GK Fund raised $1M and awarded sixteen grants to BIPOC founders.

During his tenure as the Director of Innovation for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs in New England, Michael helped to raise $50M for Israeli-founded startup companies, secured $12M in funding for Israeli and U.S. joint ventures through the BIRD Foundation (Binational Research & Development Fund), and led negotiations to secure the Moderna mRNA vaccine for COVID-19 through a bulk purchase agreement in April of 2020.

Erez Capital makes investments in startup companies at the pre-seed stage who have a direct and quick-path to Seed and Series A funding rounds. The firm operates a traditional venture capital fund, and administers SPVs to raise capital and invest in smaller syndicated deals.
