About the Role
YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs) seeks an experienced Investment Director to lead AI ecosystem investments. The role focuses on identifying and supporting high-potential AI startups across various stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an investment thesis across AI areas including Foundation Models, AI Infrastructure, AI Agents, Enterprise AI, Developer Tools, Robotics & Embodied AI, and Applied AI
- Source and evaluate opportunities globally through commercial, strategic, and technical due diligence
- Assess product-market fit, team quality, defensibility, and scalability
- Build investment cases and prepare memoranda for the Investment Committee
- Lead transaction execution and deal structuring
- Support portfolio companies with strategic guidance on fundraising, hiring, and scaling
- Maintain relationships with founders and industry experts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- 7+ years in venture capital, private equity, growth equity, investment banking, or related roles
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and machine learning
- Demonstrated experience with high-growth technology companies
- Financial modeling and valuation expertise
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct AI startup investment experience
- Technical AI/ML background
- Existing founder and investor network in the AI ecosystem
