Venture Equities is building a venture capital lane alongside our cash flowing private equity strategy. We have active inbound deal flow, legal and structuring infrastructure, and fundraising support through our internal team and placement relationships. We are looking for a senior VC decision maker to lead this lane and build our Silicon Valley presence as the hub for founder and co investor activity.

The mandate

This is a build role. You will lead venture investing for Venture Equities and anchor our Silicon Valley node, creating a repeatable pipeline, a disciplined investment process, and a credible presence in the Bay Area ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing, screening, diligence, and IC recommendations for venture deals, pre seed through growth

• Set the VC thesis and decision rules, including reserves strategy, ownership targets, and follow on approach

• Drive Bay Area relationship development with founders, co investors, accelerators, and operators

• Lead term sheet negotiation, syndicate construction, and closing coordination with our legal team

• Partner closely with our capital raising function to match deals with the right LPs and structures, including SPVs and deal by deal vehicles

• Provide post investment support, board observer participation when relevant, and portfolio monitoring

• Build the blueprint for scaling the VC lane, including scouts, analyst or associate support, EIRs, and a small operating bench, hired only when economics justify it

• Host a steady cadence of founder and co investor meetings in Silicon Valley, and represent Venture Equities Ventures in market

Silicon Valley office vision

We want this lane to have a real Bay Area heartbeat, without premature overhead. Early stage presence can start lean, coworking, partner space, or flexible boardroom arrangements, and scale into a dedicated footprint once the lane hits agreed milestones.

Milestone based buildout

• office expansion is triggered by closed deals, pipeline quality, and capital availability

• the priority is performance and process, not real estate

What success looks like

• A clear VC thesis that fits Venture Equities standards for rigor and repeatability

• 2 to 6 closed investments in the first 12 months, pacing depends on opportunity set and capital availability

• High quality syndicate relationships and consistent decision quality

• A scalable venture playbook, sourcing, diligence, memos, reserves, follow ons, and portfolio review cadence

Ideal background

We want an operator investor with real judgment and a verifiable decision making track record.

Minimum qualifications

• Prior decision making role, principal, partner, or equivalent, with direct responsibility for deploying capital

• A track record of venture investments, including wins, losses, and lessons

• Strong founder evaluation ability, market judgment, and product and go to market diligence skill

• Ability to move quickly while maintaining rigor, and to write investment memos that an LP can trust

Preferred experience bar

• 7 plus years in venture investing or closely related growth investing role

• Meaningful deployment experience, we prefer candidates who have personally led or co led at least 20 million to 50 million in cumulative deployed capital across at least 15 plus investments, including follow on decisions

If your deployment is lower but your decision role and outcomes are exceptional, we still want to talk.

Economics and structure

This role is designed for someone who wants upside and long term wealth creation, and is comfortable starting deal by deal.

• No salary initially

• Economics paid on closed deals only

• Carry participation per SPV or vehicle you lead, with potential for increased carry based on contribution and performance

• Potential share of management fees where applicable, structured per deal and responsibilities

• Clear path to formal leadership of Venture Equities Ventures as the platform scales

We will structure economics transparently per deal, aligned with investor norms and the work required.

What you get from Venture Equities

• Legal, structuring, and execution support

• Fundraising support through internal efforts and placement relationships

• A broader sponsor platform and operating network to support portfolio companies

• A long term vision to build a durable multi strategy investment firm with a credible venture lane

To apply

Send a short note with

• your investing track record, including your role in each decision

• a representative deal list, 8 to 12 investments is enough, include what happened and your key diligence insight

• the sectors you know best, and the ones you avoid

• one investment memo or teardown you have written, redacted is fine

• why a deal by deal build with upside is the right fit for you
