Sampo Accelerator
Non-profit, equity-free accelerator in Espoo, Finland, running short development programmes for early-stage startups across Finland, the Baltics, CEE and the Balkans.
Sampo Accelerator is a non-profit startup development organisation headquartered in Espoo, Finland. It runs short, equity-free accelerator programmes for early-stage companies, charging no programme fees and taking no equity from participants. The organisation is supported by alumni and describes its model as by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, with an emphasis on coaching and peer support.
Two programmes make up the offer. The Forge is a 3.5-week programme for early-stage startups approaching launch. The Mill is a two-day programme aimed at teams nearing ten people and building a growing customer base. Both are designed to help founders build sustainable businesses, find customers and grow, with an explicit focus on decision-making, customers and revenue rather than on closing an investment round.
Selection is based on the team rather than the business idea, pitch deck or traction - an unusual criterion among accelerators, where portfolio construction is typically thesis-led. Sampo Accelerator works with startups across Finland, the Baltics, Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
