Director of Marketing
Rev1 Ventures is seeking a hands-on strategist and operator to lead its entire marketing function. This Director of Marketing will translate organizational goals into execution, managing internal staff and external contractors while connecting marketing activities to measurable business results.
Key responsibilities
Strategic planning
- Develop and own the annual marketing plan with defined goals, channel strategy, and budget tied to organizational priorities
- Set priorities across program pipeline, Peninsula membership, events, and partnerships
- Present plans to the Chief Partnerships Officer for approval
Positioning & messaging
- Maintain Rev1's market positioning and translate it into consistent, compelling messaging across all channels
- Enforce messaging standards ensuring brand consistency
- Oversee all external communications
Campaigns & content
- Build multi-channel campaigns driving measurable results in program applications and membership
- Manage editorial calendars and deliver newsletters, thought leadership, and storytelling
- Direct PR firm strategy and media outreach alignment
Performance management
- Establish marketing KPIs and monthly reporting frameworks
- Use data to improve conversion and engagement metrics
- Connect marketing outcomes to business results
Team & cross-functional leadership
- Lead in-house staff and contractor teams with clear priorities and feedback
- Partner with Venture Pathways, Platform, Corporate Partnerships, and Capital teams
- Create enablement assets including decks, impact reports, and case studies
- Maintain current website content and materials
Required qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
- 5–8+ years of marketing and communications experience demonstrating ownership of strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes
- Proven ability to manage marketing functions with lean teams and contractor networks
- Strong editorial judgment and quality standards across channels
- Data-informed approach prioritizing outcomes over vanity metrics
- Experience managing agencies and external partners strategically
- Direct communication style with ability to prioritize and make tough decisions
- Executive-level presentation and verbal/written communication skills
- Understanding of and appreciation for founder challenges; experience with early-stage companies or venture development is advantageous
- Technical proficiency: Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Asana, LinkedIn, social scheduling platforms, and content management systems
- Accountability mindset with ability to track and report consistently on objectives and results

Compensation & benefits
- Salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year plus performance-based incentive compensation

Work requirements
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Some evening and weekend availability for events required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
