About the role
Plug and Play Japan launched principal investing in 2019 and established its first domestic fund in 2025. We are recruiting a core investor to strengthen our startup investment operations, investing in early-stage startups globally.
Key responsibilities
- End-to-end startup investment: sourcing, due diligence, and investment execution
- Contract negotiation and execution related to investments
- Portfolio company growth support and exit facilitation
- Investment hypothesis development
- Investment team management
- Accelerator team collaboration
- Community engagement and key relationship building
- Future fundraising involvement
Required qualifications
- Business-level Japanese and English proficiency (advanced or higher)
- 3+ years of venture capital investment experience
- Bachelor's degree minimum
Preferred qualifications
- Specialized knowledge in specific startup sectors
- Account management experience (CVC support)
- Growth support / exit experience
- Team management background
- Fundraising experience
Work details
- Hours: 8:30–17:30 (1-hour break)
- Hybrid: remote work permitted, 3 days/week in office
- Trial period: 3 months
- Annual leave: 10 days initially, up to 20; 5 sick days; 5 refresh days
