The firm provides equity capital to innovative startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in the region, with a mandate oriented towards strengthening their financial base and supporting regional economic growth. Investment activity is organised across four programmes. NSeed targets young companies in the seed and startup phases with equity capital. NBeteiligung provides growth capital to SMEs through open or silent investments - the latter being subordinated, non-shareholding forms of equity. NTransformation and NMittelstand are aimed at businesses seeking capital to pursue market opportunities. The firm reports no fixed industry focus; portfolio companies span mechanical engineering, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, life sciences, environmental solutions and energy technology.
By its own account, NBank Capital holds stakes in 89 Lower Saxony companies, including more than 50 startups, and has invested over €81 million in total. Investment is paired with close personal guidance across the holding period, from initial assessment through to exit, and portfolio companies are connected to a network of partners supplying both capital and expertise.
