“Terminally Online” VC Content Manager / Analyst

Worldwide (Remote)Part-time54m ago

Foreword

Hey there, my name is Pavel! I'm the founder of Murph Capital. After approximately seven years in VC, mostly in investor relations, I started a new media and community layer for the new generation of VCs and LPs.

Think something closer to TBPN or a16z New Media, but fully focused on capital allocators and VC fund builders. We've grown to approximately 15,000 people across Substack, LinkedIn, and X, with regular viral reach.

We're backed by Harmonic, Rings AI, and Cura, and we host private investor events with Sydecar and Rho.

Looking for someone to join our small team and lead our X and Substack strategy. You'll be chronically online, keeping a pulse on private markets, and scaling the Murph brand into a standalone niche media publication.

Location: Remote.

Employment: 40 hours per month or full time.

Salary: Depends on skill level, targeting the middle range.

Responsibilities

General

  • Live and breathe internet culture while building a high-signal content system for a VC/LP audience.
  • Own the monthly content and marketing calendar, always four or more weeks ahead.
  • Create tweets, threads, LinkedIn posts, newsletters, and long-form content—starting with guidance, quickly moving to full ownership.
  • Hunt for new formats, hooks, and meta trends that actually work in VC, tech, and finance Twitter/X.
  • Monitor trends and news daily, including new funding rounds, funds closed, and industry moves.
  • Ruthlessly test, measure, and double down on what drives engagement and growth.
  • Use AI tools daily, including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Grok, to increase output and creativity.
  • Stay extremely online—track niche Twitter circles, Discords, Farcaster, and emerging platforms.

Social Media

  • Run X, LinkedIn, and Substack like a native. Be ready to expand into Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Post consistently and engage intensely by replying, quote-tweeting, and building relationships with key accounts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of what makes content go viral in terminally online circles.
  • Help craft and ship a high-quality monthly Substack newsletter.
  • Spot collaboration and growth opportunities in real time.

Video & Audio

  • Clip and package moments from investor conversations, podcast recordings, and event footage into short-form content for X, Substack, and LinkedIn.
  • Track clips, drafts, transcripts, and publishing status in one place so nothing falls through the cracks.

Website

  • Keep the website clean, fast, and on-brand.
  • Think like a media editor, not just a webmaster—gradually turn the site into a full-fledged media outlet rather than a static landing page.
  • Maintain the internal knowledge base in Notion or Airtable.

Other / Bonus

  • Strong meme fluency and visual taste.
  • Ability to write in multiple voices and internet-native tones.

Requirements

  • You are genuinely terminally online. This is not a meme—it is a job requirement. You understand internet culture at a deep level, including memes, brainrot, parasocial dynamics, and niche Twitter lore.
  • You enjoy spending hours on X/Twitter, reading threads, and following niche conversations.
  • You are obsessed with writing and content creation. You write not because you have to, but because you cannot stop.
  • One to three years of real experience in content, ghostwriting, copywriting, or running social accounts.
  • Elite-level English writing—natural, sharp, funny when needed, and always high-signal.
  • Strong understanding of how X and LinkedIn work in 2026, including algorithms, hooks, timing, and audience psychology.
  • Real interest, or strong willingness to dive deep, in venture capital, startups, and technology.
  • AI-native—you use frontier models daily and know their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Extremely high taste level. You instinctively know when something feels off, cringe, or mid.
  • Proactive, fast-moving, and low-ego. Things move quickly here.
  • Bonus points if you already have a somewhat known online presence or strong personal brand.

Tools We Use

We're tool-agnostic, but here is our current stack:

  • Design: Figma.
  • Publishing: X and Substack.
  • Workspace: Notion.
  • AI: Claude (Code and Design), Gemini, Perplexity, and Notion AI.
  • Web: Framer.
  • Communication: Slack.

If you have a preferred toolset that gets better results, we're open to it.
