About Love Ventures
Founded in 2020, Love Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm backing ambitious founders propelling UK productivity. Having started as angels in companies like Revolut, Chip and Crowdcube, the firm has invested in 40 companies at pre-seed and seed across fintech, applied AI and consumertech. The core team comes from startup, operator and investor backgrounds at Barclays Ventures, Capgemini, Morgan Stanley, Octopus Investments and The Instant Group. The Investment Committee comprises four exited founders and operators.
The role
An Investment Associate role where you become instrumental to investment decisions. You'll spend your week meeting 20+ founders and develop a strong sense for which teams we should spend more time with. AI is shifting the investor's role from analytics to access.
What you'll actually do
- Sourcing (~60%): Run our top-of-funnel. Develop a pre-VC pipeline of repeat operators, hackathon winners, and second-time founders still in stealth. Host events and build relationships with founders, VC firms and accelerators.
- Deep dives and diligence (~30%): Lead primary research, write memos, build models, and conduct customer and reference calls.
- Portfolio and firm-building (~10%): Support existing founders on hiring and fundraising; improve CRM, data infrastructure and AI workflows.
Who we're looking for
Likely 2+ years post-graduation, with:
- Startup experience. You've probably founded or worked at/with an early-stage company and know what zero-to-one actually feels like.
- Investment experience. You may have already been investing at another VC fund for a couple of years, or have transferable skills from other industries.
- Hustle signals demonstrating shipped projects and community visibility.
- High IQ and EQ. You'll need to get up to speed on complex topics at pace, learn to ask the right questions, and earn founders' trust.
- AI-native. You use AI tools daily, not as a gimmick but as a force multiplier.
- Technical depth. You can read a technical paper, have a real conversation with an ML engineer, or dissect a product without hand-waving.
- Culture fit. Low ego, high agency, direct and kind.
