Fresh Fund

Israeli pre-seed venture firm, founded in 2016, backing companies with at least one Israeli founder as first institutional investor, with checks of $500k to $1m.

Fresh Fund is a pre-seed venture capital firm founded in 2016 and based in Israel, with more than $85 million in assets under management across funds and special-purpose vehicles. It invests across sectors in companies with at least one Israeli founder, and generally positions itself as a startup's first institutional investor.

Initial investments typically range from $500,000 to $750,000, with checks of up to $1 million. The firm generally leads or co-leads rounds, targets ownership of 7–10% per investment, and reserves capital for follow-on rounds in its portfolio companies. Alongside its main funds and special-purpose vehicles, Fresh Fund operates a dedicated defense and dual-use fund; other activity is cross-sector.

Support for portfolio companies is practical rather than passive: fundraising guidance, investor introductions, business-development connections, and ongoing advice, tailored to each founding team. The firm traces its origins to Israel's first university-focused venture fund, and maintains an ambition-led selection approach at the earliest stage of company formation.
