Fledge
Fledge runs impact-focused startup accelerators in multiple cities and invests in participating companies through revenue-based seed funding and follow-on seed funds.
Fledge is a global accelerator network and associated investment platform founded in 2012. It builds mission-driven, for-profit companies and cooperatives addressing social or environmental challenges, working with entrepreneurs, mentors and investors across multiple cities worldwide. The firm reports having supported hundreds of companies drawn from dozens of countries, supported by a mentor network numbering in the hundreds.
Its investment activity sits at seed stage and is structured around participation in the accelerator. Fledge invests in the companies it invites to join its programmes, using a revenue-based structure designed to align its interests with those of founders, rather than a conventional equity-only model. Separate seed funds may provide follow-on capital to accelerator graduates. Investment amounts are not disclosed.
The accelerator programmes themselves are short and intensive, combining practical instruction in strategy, financials, marketing, sales and funding with one-to-one advice, experience and connections from mentors. Individual programmes carry distinct local and sector focuses. Areas of emphasis include food and agriculture, land restoration, cooperative enterprise, and social and environmental impact more broadly.
Fledge has refined this model since 2012. Its stated focus is on measurable impact, and its target companies span both conventional for-profit structures and cooperatives.
