Clarendon Fund Managers

Belfast-based, FCA-regulated venture capital fund manager, investing since 2001 in Northern Ireland businesses across start-up, early and growth stages, primarily alongside private investors.

Clarendon Fund Managers is a venture capital fund manager based in Belfast, established in 2001. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, the firm manages regional investment funds that provide equity finance to businesses across Northern Ireland, typically investing alongside private investors rather than as sole capital providers. Its mandate spans start-up and early stage companies through to growth and expansion stage businesses, including regional SMEs.

Two programmes define the firm's investment activity. Co-Fund NI invests alongside private investors in Northern Ireland businesses. The Investment Fund for Northern Ireland is a regional fund that likewise co-invests with private capital, supporting companies from start-up and early stage through growth and expansion. The co-investment model is central to both: the funds are structured to complement, and catalyse, private money rather than substitute for it.

Alongside capital, the firm works with portfolio companies on product development, hiring and operational expansion. Clarendon Fund Managers is a Certified B Corporation, a certification framework covering social and environmental performance, governance and accountability, and states that it pursues purpose alongside profit. Investment activity is concentrated in Belfast and the wider Northern Ireland market.
