Operations Analytics Analyst

Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytically minded individual to join our team, in a role focused across data, analytics, and fund operations. This role’s focus will be on how we monitor portfolio performance, support fund accounting and reporting workflows, and turn data into insights for the startup ecosystem, investment team, and our investors. This person should have a deep knowledge of AI, not just understanding what it is, but experience with using it to build tools and transform work.

This is a great fit for someone who wants exposure to venture capital and fund-of-funds mechanics, enjoys building structure out of data, and is energized by Cincinnati’s startup ecosystem.

Reports To: VP, Finance & Accounting

Key Responsibilities:

Fund Operations

• Support quarterly and annual fund operations, including daily monitoring of cash, capital call and distribution processing, quarterly valuations, and review of financial statements.
• Assist with LP reporting, capital account statements, and responses to investor due diligence requests.
• Assist on an annual basis with the annual audit and tax returns.
• Maintain a strong relationship and chain of communication with outside service providers.

Data & Analytics

• Own the collection, cleaning, and structuring of portfolio company performance data across the fund’s portfolio, building a true single source of information for our platform
• Maintain all data collected within the organization, from all programs within Cintrifuse, Union Hall, as well as any other metrics maintained
• Build and maintain dashboards and recurring reports to translate raw portfolio and fund data into clear insights
• Develop benchmarking analyses to support strategic decisions
• Work with the Capital, Marketing, and Programming Teams, to report all data for state reporting, programming needs and external parties

The expectation is that this person will have a strong knowledge of and experience with AI tools, allowing them to build and maintain agents, bots, and other tools that improve our systems and drive greater efficiency. This person will also be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our current tools and systems to ensure they remain accurate, useful, and effective. In addition, they will step in to support ad hoc research and analysis needs, working cross-functionally across Cintrifuse, Cintrifuse Capital, and our StartupCincy ecosystem partners.

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience in a role combining data analysis, financial operations, accounting, finance or fund/portfolio administration – accounting, VC, private equity, fund administration, or startup finance experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (graduate degree a plus, not required)  
• Solid foundational native AI skills, including experience building with these tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc)
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills
• Familiarity with fund accounting concepts (capital calls, NAV, waterfall/allocation mechanics) or eagerness to learn quickly
• Excellent attention to detail, the focus of this role is on the numbers that matter to LPs, boards, and portfolio companies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable synthesizing complex data into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders
• Genuine interest in startups, venture capital, and the Cincinnati startup ecosystem 
• Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive data

As a member of Cintrifuse and Cintrifuse Capital, you’ll learn quickly the ins and outs of our unique approach to focusing on the startup ecosystem, while working for a venture capital firm. You will see quickly how the fund mechanics and portfolio data directly shape decisions that support founders and grow the local startup ecosystem. This role offers a rare blend of technical fund operations exposure and analytical ownership, while focusing on native AI to help build and see these tools come to life at a rapid pace.

This is a full-time, Cincinnati-based position with a hybrid work schedule. Salary is based on experience, along with performance bonus potential. The Data, Analytics & Operations Analyst will be considered an access person for Cintrifuse Capital. As an SEC registered investment adviser, all access persons of Cintrifuse Capital are required to comply with the rules and regulations of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and report on the firm’s code of ethics.
