Selling into ‘old-school’ industries takes both novel technology and novel business model approaches, as well as connections to forward-thinking early adopters. We connect our portfolio to a network that accelerates time-to-market and tests new ideas for young companies. LEVERAGE OUR ROOTS AT KLEINER PERKINS Years of managing the Green Growth Fund at Kleiner Perkins, a partnership with a 45-year track record, have ingrained many of the foundational goals and practices that shaped Kleiner Perkins: a focus on entrepreneurs, active company building, and a willingness to think big. We remain actively involved with Kleiner Perkins as we continue to manage the firm’s Green Growth Fund and its existing portfolio companies. We are also headquartered in Silicon Valley, at the center of California’s technology ecosystem. This presence and network offers visibility into cutting edge technologies that will disrupt large industries in the coming years.

We believe that electrification and digitalization are the backbone of decarbonization and green transformation. Vireo Ventures is a seed- and pre-seed-stage VC. We invest in European tech start-ups that drive electrification. As Vireo we take the long-term view and support our portfolio companies wherever possible. We invest in B2B business models that pave the way towards an electrified and decarbonized world. Energy Supply The energy system is becoming decentral, carbon-neutral, and digital. We invest in startups that support the generation, supply, Power2X (e.g. green hydrogen), trading and optimization of green energy. Mobility Travel and mobility will undergo dramatic changes. Electric transportation will be the norm. We seek startups that support the build-out, utilization and re-usage (circular economy) of the EV and charging infrastructure. Cities & Buildings Continuing urbanization requires transformation of cities. We fund startups driving the management and optimization of (integrated) electrified power, gas, heat and mobility systems (sectoral coupling) of the built environment. Logistics Logistics will evolve to a fully integrated multimodal platform. We look for startups that enable the electrification of (last mile) delivery and innovate operations of logistics. Industry & Mittelstand Operations will be digitalized, electrified, and their carbon footprint significantly reduced. We seek startups that spearhead this fundamental transformation.
