Investment VP (A4)

About the role

Investment VPs (A4) are the ones that make things happen at AppWorks. This position will offer first-hand experience advising founders and making VC investments. Your core responsibility is to manage the full life cycle of our investments — including sourcing quality founders, research, forming theses, due diligence, structuring deals, closing process, post-investment tracking, adding value all the way to exit and beyond. You will also be contributing directly to the AppWorks Ecosystem and taking on new initiatives.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Build relations with the most influential founders and investors across Greater Southeast Asia and Web3
• Network with Beacon Funds and other VC partners to structure deals and cultivate the future Musks and Vitaliks of our world
• Formulate investment theses, conduct due diligence, and place bets in emerging industries and technologies
• Immerse yourself in local markets across the region and compile research reports on upcoming trends
• Produce a steady stream of thought leadership and content marketing to solidify AppWorks’ branding
• Hone your chops as a venture capitalist and investor
• Earn US$ 94K – 183K annually based on your performance and an additional US$ 12K child care assistance per 0-6 years old

To excel in this position you will need:

• Genuine passion about founders and their stories, technology and making a big impact
• Strong networking and business development skills with an ability to travel regularly
• 4+ years of professional experience launching a startup, working in one, or in a tech company. Alternatively, 4+ years of work experience in an asset management firm, preferably an investment role at a VC, PE, public equity funds, investment bank, or consultancy firm.
• A good understanding of who you are and where you are going
• A great deal of intellectual curiosity and an ability to think critically
• The ability to both zoom in to see the details and zoom out to paint a big picture
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal communication
• Substantial experience living/working internationally
• Proficiency in financial modeling and with spreadsheets
