Ääkköset Oy

Ääkköset Oy, which operates as Scandinavian ABC, is a security-focused startup studio and investment company. Registered in Oulu, Finland, it combines investment capital with hands-on company building and product development support, working with entrepreneurs to turn information security innovations into products with global potential. Its stated focus is on the point at which promising ideas and prototypes stall before reaching market.

The firm's technical remit spans cybersecurity, threat intelligence, identity, secure communications, data analysis and connected-product testing. Portfolio activity is organised as an ecosystem of companies across these domains, structured so that resources can grow alongside demand. Team members bring experience from security startups and prior exits.

Two programmes define how the firm engages founders. The Security Startup Test Drive offers aspiring entrepreneurs a low-risk way to explore startup life, develop an idea and decide whether it should become a standalone company or join an existing portfolio business. Alongside this, the portfolio ecosystem provides continuing operational and product development support within information security, identity and access management, secure communications and IoT testing.
