500 Global is a venture capital firm with $2.2B in assets under management that invests in founders building fast-growing technology companies. In Korea, we are building a focused ecosystem to source, support, and scale early-stage startups (pre-A/Series A) by leveraging the global 500 Network and our partners. The Partner, Korea will be a pivotal leader in shaping the firm’s local investment strategy, governance, and ecosystem engagement—driving high-impact investments, helping portfolio companies sharpen their strategies, and connecting founders with the right capital, talent, and partners to accelerate growth. This role combines investment judgment, portfolio leadership, and firm-building responsibilities within a fast-moving, globally-connected organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead investment decisions from sourcing through due diligence and deal execution, assessing markets, products, teams, and financial performance to build strong conviction.
- Oversee portfolio strategy and capital allocation, track performance, guide follow-ons, and proactively manage risk.
- Act as a board-level advisor to founders, supporting strategic decisions, governance, and sustainable growth.
- Cultivate high-trust relationships with founders, investors, and corporate partners that advance both portfolio and firm objectives.
- Mobilize the global 500 network to accelerate founder access to customers, investors, and operating talent.
- Strengthen 500 Korea’s brand and visibility through ecosystem leadership, public speaking, and mentorship.
- Contribute to global firm initiatives, collaborating with other partners on capital formation, fund strategy, and operational excellence.

- Proven record of leading investments and driving outcomes from deal sourcing through exits.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or another relevant field; an advanced degree or executive program experience is a plus.
- Prior experience as a founder, working in PE, board member, or managing investor is a strong advantage.
- Deep expertise in venture capital, technology, and emerging markets.
- Strategic operator—able to anticipate market shifts, assess risk, and act decisively.
- Driven by performance, efficiency, and measurable results; familiar with firm-level reporting and fund management frameworks.
- Fluent in Korean and English, with a nuanced understanding of cross-border capital and market dynamics.
- Skilled at building influence across diverse stakeholders and leading through vision rather than hierarchy.
- Low-ego, highly collaborative, and motivated by collective success.
- Comfortable operating in a global, fast-moving firm environment.
Desirable
Desirable candidates will have prior operating experience at scale, demonstrated success in cross-border investments, and a track record of building and exiting companies. Experience working with early-stage startups in Korea and an established network within the Korean technology and venture ecosystem are strong assets.
