WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Reporting to the VP of Investments & Platform, you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering a best-in-class experience for 43North portfolio companies, their founders and teams. As the Sr. Manager of Program and Community, you’ll ensure our portfolio companies founders have ready access to resources to help their operations scale and flourish, seeing their success as 43North’s success.
This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to enhance 43North’s suite of resources and become the “go-to” connector for portfolio companies, providing assistance with critical operational initiatives such as talent, business development, marketing, communications, community, and network development, among others. Fostering a sense of community, you’ll create opportunities to educate founders and their teams, host forums for dialogues around growth and improvement, and make time to celebrate company wins and milestones.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively build and maintain relations with 43North alumni and current cohort founders
Maintain a list of resource vendors and partners, both local and national, ensuring founders are connected with appropriate team and partner resources as needed
Assist the VP of Investments & Platform to maintain a regular cadence of communication with the current program cohort and the larger cohort to ensure 43North stays informed of material updates
Ensure communication of any potential material updates to 43North Leadership, pulling in team members as needed to support our portfolio company leaders
Manage and iterate the process of tracking portfolio performance, ensuring regular cadence of communication including:
Weekly email outreach to portfolio companies on upcoming events and portfolio news
Manage scheduling of regular reporting needs
Support efforts related to guiding founders through the process of fundraising
Manage the tech stack of platforms and reporting tools
Attend events both locally and elsewhere on an ad hoc basis to ensure 43North's presence, maintaining relationships with founders and potential portfolio resources
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
A team player with a proactive mindset, exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Experience with startup investing and venture capital fundraising process
Ability to build relationships and make connections that our founders and their teams can leverage on a local and national level
Eagerness to live and work locally in Buffalo, NY, with a passion for the city itself and a desire to help grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem
Experience using platforms and reporting tools such as Airtable and HubSpot or general CRM experience
Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to internal and external needs and deadlines
