I'm Chinmay, a finance professional with an engineering foundation who's spent the last three years building a career across five countries, three graduate programs, and both sides of the investment table. Right now, I'm at Caprae Capital Partners doing PE deal sourcing and M&A advisory for lower-middle-market acquisitions across the US and Canada. Before that, I was at CRB HealthTech Fund III in Barcelona, where I screened 150+ tech startups, built financial models for a 6.1M euro asset, modeled a 2.5B euro market bottom-up, and wrote the LP-facing sector report that informed how the fund allocated its next vehicle. Before that, I spent 12 months at Incubateur HEC Paris at Station F managing three international government programs worth $2M - India, South Korea, and Japan - where I evaluated 53 tech ventures, ran 50+ demo days and pitch events, and built the operational infrastructure from scratch because nothing existed when I arrived. I started as a mechanical engineer in Pune, India. Graduated with a B.Tech from VIT, won the Forbes Marshall Outstanding Project Award for my thesis, and spent two years at Aptara designing deliverables for PwC and KPMG. Then I moved to France for my Master's at EDHEC Business School in Paris, transferred to Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul for my second semester, and finished at UC Berkeley Haas in California. Four schools, four countries, one degree - with a 3.84 GPA and an Academic Excellence Scholarship along the way. At Berkeley, I won the UC Launchathon by building a bottom-up financial model for a soft robotics medical device startup in a 5-hour sprint. I also built an AI Deal Screening Agent on my own - a tool that parses pitch decks, scores startups on six criteria, and generates investment reports in under 30 seconds. I built it because screening 150 startups manually at CRB took days, and I wanted to see if I could make it take seconds. It's open-source on GitHub. What I actually care about: understanding how businesses work from the inside, not just from a spreadsheet. I've sat across from founders, government officials, corporate executives, and fund managers. I've built systems where none existed. I've worked in English, French, and Korean across time zones that never overlap. I'm not the person with the most polished pedigree in the room - but I'm usually the person who figured out how to get into the room without an invitation. I'm based in San Francisco. I run ultra marathons. I ride motorcycles across countries. I sketch portraits when I need to think. And I'm looking for the next opportunity where I can do real work on real deals with people who care about building something that lasts.
