Trains, commerce, and capital move on rails. 1435 is referencing the fact that commerce and thereby capital moves efficiently and quickly through railroads, hence the origin of our name. Our Focus We focus on growth stage startups, largely those seeking funding from Seed through Series C. We are industry agnostic and generally focus on companies with teams with a strong track record, a clear path to revenue, and proprietary technology or a “moat”. We are also looking to invest in private late-stage Pre-IPO secondaries. Our Approach We provide advice, guidance, and mentorship while employing a disciplined framework to help our early stage portfolio companies reach their full potential. In evaluating an investment, we weigh leadership team quality, revenue velocity, category leadership, concept simplicity, strategic partner strength, market size and growth. That said, we’ve found that companies over $5 million in annual revenue that are growing tend to stay on that growth path.
