KDB Silicon Valley

About

KDB Silicon Valley LLC, a newly established Venture Capital subsidiary of the Korea Development Bank (“KDB”), aims to lead innovation through investment activity.

KDB, a government-owned bank based in South Korea, made over $500M direct & indirect investments during 2020 (mainly in Korea) and is now broadening its investment horizons by establishing a VC subsidiary in Silicon Valley.

Founded in May 2021, KDB Silicon Valley LLC will be located in downtown Mountain View and is planning to commence business operations in September 2021.

We will be managing $100M in capital, contributed by KDB headquarters in Korea. We will focus on early-stage, cross-sector investments with typical check sizes of $1M to $5M. Separately, we will also seek to invest capital into other VC fund managers as a Fund-of-Funds.
