Amplify Capital is a Canadian investment fund that provides early-stage companies long term equity solutions and strategic and operational support as they develop their business to solve three of our society’s defining challenges.

The MaRS Catalyst Fund was incubated and supported at the MaRS Discovery District. Due to its success and impressive returns, Amplify Capital spun out of MaRS and launched the next fund independently. MaRS Catalyst rebranded as Amplify Capital and closed the first close of its LP II in 2020 with a final close in January 2022.

Today, we are continuing on the success of our investment thesis and multiplying our impact and reach. We currently manage $42M over two funds.

From Fund I to Fund II: our learnings

It has been almost five years since our first investment from our Fund I. Since then, we have doubled the team size, achieved great social and environmental impact, invested in 16 companies, of which one exited, and reviewed over 1,200 investment opportunities. Building on the success from our Fund I, we have even bigger ambitions for our Fund II. It’s an exciting time for Amplify Capital.
