Winnebago Seed Fund
Winnebago Seed Fund invests seed capital in startups in Northeast Wisconsin.
Early-stage Wisconsin entrepreneurs often need a first investor willing to back a new business before it has attracted wider attention. Winnebago Seed Fund aims to fill that role, investing in startup companies in Northeast Wisconsin and, more broadly, across the state. Established in 2016 and based in Neenah, the fund’s stated primary objective is to generate investor returns by partnering with talented entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
The fund describes its approach as ‘Money for Minnows’: becoming the first investor in new Wisconsin companies, without limiting its strategy to a particular technology or product area. In some cases, it may help form a company with a product inventor. Managed by David Trotter through Winnebago Capital Partners, the fund draws on investment processes and parameters used by Wisconsin venture funds and works with a network of experienced fund managers and investment committee members.
