About

As a business accelerator for new businesses and the venture capital arm of Mobivia, Via ID provides long-term support for projects and entrepreneurs in the development of innovative solutions so that they can become leaders in sustainable mobility and autotech.

Created in 2010 by Mobivia (Norauto, Midas, ATU), Via ID offers a complete ecosystem to the entrepreneurs who join it: incubator program, accelerator program, financing, international development, expert advice and strong synergies with the leading players in mobility.

Via ID’s mission

To develop new activities and new services for sustainable mobility, in the medium and long term, and thus feed Mobivia’s strategy of growth, diversification, automotive transformation and sustainable development.

Via ID’s commitment to impact

In all the initiatives that Via ID leads, the ambition is to serve the development of a sustainable mobility accessible to all, in the continuity of Mobivia’s raison d’être: “Opening Sustainable Mobility to all”.

To achieve this, the projects must meet the following UN Sustainable Development Goals as a priority:

  • SDG 13 – Fight against climate change: does the company’s activity avoid greenhouse gas emissions?
  • SDG 12 – Responsible consumption and products: does the service serve a circular economy logic?
  • SDG 3 – Good health and well-being: does the project aim to improve the health of its users?
  • SDG 10 – Reduced inequalities: does the initiative make a solution accessible to more people or to people who are usually excluded?

Our sustainability goals are:

  • to contribute to carbon neutrality in 2050: to reduce our CO2 emissions and those of our portfolio by 30% by 2025;
  • continue to develop positive impact sales. Evaluated according to a method defined by Mobivia and its BUs, it aims to establish which products and services create a positive impact, and to measure and monitor their development.

Our commitment to drive change in mobility The Challenge: The transportation sector faces significant challenges as the global demand for mobility and logistics continues to grow. Greenhouse gas emissions: By contributing approximately 25% of all global greenhouse gas emissions, the transportation sector is a leading cause of climate change. Natural resources consumption: Natural resources are heavily relied upon for the production of vehicles, fuels, and infrastructure in the transportation sector, which can have significant environmental impacts. Congestion: Traffic congestion in urban areas is a major challenge that requires a combination of infrastructure improvements, public transportation options, and changes in behavior. Physical footprint: The transportation sector requires a significant amount of physical space for roads, parking, and other infrastructure, leading to habitat destruction, loss of green space, and decreased livability in urban areas. Innovation as a Solution: At Rethink Ventures, we strongly in believe innovation and new technologies to create a world in which transportation is emission-free and sustainable. Together with our startups and partners, we aim to develop and scale solutions that eventually will provide clean, digital and safe mobility for everyone. Scania Ventures

Scania Ventures is set up to help position Scania for the future transport ecosystem. It is identifying and commercializing new businesses based on customer needs and emerging technologies that lie outside the current core. Scania Ventures is sharpening venture building capabilities to build scalable ventures that will become future key businesses and create new profit pools for Scania. Our industry is evolving Innovating is nothing new to us. At Scania we have been doing it for 130 years in our core business of trucks, buses and engines. This is one of the key factors that have made us the world-leading company that we are today. As our industry evolves we also need to explore and develop ideas that lies beyond our core business today, not least regarding areas such as AI, digitalization and autonomous. How Scania is exploring new business areas To drive the shift to a sustainable transport system, we need to find brave and bold partners in the transport ecosystem. We need partners who share our vision and can help further develop and accelerate the adoption of new technologies outside our core capabilities. In this video Gustaf Sundell, Head of Ventures and New Business and Scania's CEO Christian Levin, discuss this topic in depth.
