V8 Capital Partners

Lagos-based venture capital firm founded in 2017, investing $250,000 to $5 million in African technology and technology-enabled businesses across four funds.

V8 Capital Partners is a venture capital firm founded in 2017 and based in Lagos, Nigeria. It invests growth capital in technology and technology-enabled enterprise businesses across Africa, with a stated focus on business automation and data-centric services. Ticket sizes range from $250,000 to $5 million per company, deployed across five target sectors: financial services, healthcare, education, transportation and agriculture.

Capital is deployed through four investment vehicles: the VCP Legacy Fund, the pre-growth stage VCP Pre-Growth I, the growth stage VCP Growth Fund I, and V8 Growth Labs, a programme through which the firm invests in and supports technology businesses. The structure spans pre-growth to growth stages, reflecting a strategy aimed at companies addressing infrastructure gaps on the continent.

Alongside capital, the firm provides what it terms specialised know-how: corporate networks, business development support, specialised expertise and governance frameworks for portfolio companies. The team reports more than 70 years of combined global experience across private equity, venture capital and consulting, and the firm's stated mission is to help African businesses expand customer access, improve efficiency and raise living standards.
