The role
The Senior Fund Accountant is a full-time, on-site role responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for investment funds.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review NAV calculations, investor allocations, and capital account statements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements; manage period-end close processes
- Coordinate with external administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
- Maintain accurate general ledgers for funds
- Review partnership agreements for accounting implications
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Collaborate with investment, operations, and finance teams; respond to investor inquiries
- Drive process improvements and automation within the fund accounting function
Requirements
- Strong fund accounting expertise with NAV calculation experience
- Proficiency preparing and analyzing financial statements for investment funds
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
- Several years of fund accounting experience in private equity, venture capital, or similar investments
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with fund accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City)
