The Resolution Foundation is an independent think-tank dedicated to lifting living standards in the UK. We focus particularly on households with low and middle incomes, people on low pay or in precarious work, and those vulnerable to financial shocks. Our work also includes analysis of fairness between the generations through our Intergenerational Centre.
Day to day, we aim to produce rigorous analytical work and develop practical policy proposals, using our expertise to affect direct change. We analyse trends and outlooks for living standards across age groups, family types, and different levels of income and wealth. Our research concentrates on key areas such as work and housing, and on economic growth and productivity as routes to sustainably higher living standards. We also examine the role of government in improving living standards, including through taxes, social security and public services, and we inform public debate through regular publications and a wide-ranging programme of events.
In addition to the main foundation, the Resolution Foundation launched its social investment arm, Resolution Ventures, to support early-stage ventures focused on improving conditions and career paths for workers in low-paid and precarious employment.
